In the beginning, all was without form. And the Goddess said, "Let there be comic." And there was a comic, and it was good. Well, maybe not that good, but it was a start. The look was very plain. No background, no extra pages. In fact, it was connected to my homepage, which at least had a background to it, even if it was a really horrible one. It recieved little attention, except from people I pointed to it. It was on my college webserver, and the URL was really, really long. Then I moved it to Geocities, where the look didn't change, and the URL was still really, really long, but at least it got more attention.

I moved my pages to Fortunecity shortly after Geocities was bought by Yahoo and they claimed all rights to anything they hosted. Needless to say, I didn't take to well to that. At Fortunecity, Misty separated itself from my homepage to become its own entity. I also went back and re-drew all the previous strips, since I felt I coould do a much better job given more space to work in. This is also where I developed background images and supplementary pages, like the archives and who's who. I submitted the URL to a few search engines, advertised on FurryMuck and FluffMuck, and Misty took off like a rocket. I even developed a short-lived adult-oriented spin-off called Misty Nights. There were times I didn't update regularly, but school's a bitch.

Then, in September 1999, Fortunecity was bought by a Christian group and began a crackdown on "porn", and I got booted off for a picture in the Misty Nights section of Maureen masturbating. This was also the beginning of what I like to call "my year in Hell" or "playing the Survivor homegame". No, I didn't get a million dollars; I didn't even get voted off the island.

After my stint in Hell, I found another webhost, this time with the Web Union. During this time, my art style changed somewhat, so I decided that this was Misty version 2.0. I regularly updated (more or less) during my time there. I took a page from Eric Schwartz and updated once a month with about three strips at a time. In January of 2001, the Web Union went under because the admins were getting too much crap from some of their users. And so, the search was on yet again...

In 2001, I discovered the existence of Keenspace and Keenspot. It seemed too good to be true -- a webhosting service just for comics. I also had a huge backlog of comics I did during the downtime after the Web Union closed. So, I went weekly. Where Misty will go from here, only time will tell.

2002 - after a slow start, I got back into doing the strips more or less regularly. The RL Teddy, my SO, was appointed assistant web master and spokescoon for the forum. A minor overhaul was done to the site, mostly the re-organization of the archives so that the storyline flowed better. Also, there was the addition of the "extras" section - for single panel filler and holiday pics - and the fan art section.
