Gwendolyn East

The mastermind behind the comic 'Magic 101'. What IS 'Magic 101'? Well, back at ECU (East Carolina University) in 1995, an artist named Gwendolyn East created this pseudo-furry comic for the school paper, the East Carolinian. It ran for about a year before she had to discontiue due to time restraints. That was 7 years ago. Well, she's back (with her all powerful master degree in LIS) to bring back the story of 4 adventurers who are transported to OUR universe to face the ultimate peril ... college.

The original comic starred Nalia (a warior), Mirrim (a mage), Shai (elven thief) and Candice (a Vorlepis [a strange rabbit creature] warrior). Shai and Candice are seen in this strip. We will let you know when Gwendolyn's site/comic goes up for the public (for now, the link will take you to one of her original comics from 1995). Meanwhile, for those who went to ECU and remember 'Magic 101', enjoy.

PS: needless to say - Nalia Bitterson, Mirrim Mageseeker, Shailiandrilir Mistwalker, and Candice the Bane are ALL (c) to Gwendolyn East. Steal at your own risk - she has a knife collection ;) (there will be more guest strips to come).

This is 'RULE #61' and is based on an inside joke. Shown are Teddy (who has a RL counterpart) and Damienne (the dragon is of the Magic 101 universe, not Misty; but she also has a RL counterpart). The joke? Well, some time back, Teddy and Damienne would frequent the Golden Corral buffet and they ALWAYS got the same thing. For Teddy, a buffet meal (pretty simple); but for Damienne, she got the steak tips with a buffet on the side (which used to make the meal cheaper by a fluke). Poor Teddy never picked up on the fact that he could save a few cents AND get some beef at the same time. So, sure enough, every time they went, "Umm ... could I have just one steak tip?" True story.
